ShapeShifter

ShapeShifter is a convenient GUI for loading shapefiles into PostgreSQL/PostGIS.  Although it uses shp2pg.exe, it makes the entire process much easier and more flexible.  Simply drag any shapefile member (.shp, .shx, .dbf, etc.) onto its main form and you can then do the following:

• Load the data into any schema
• Give ownership to any defined user
• Assign whatever table name you wish
• Examine the .prj file in pretty format
• Automatically find the appropriate SRID value
• Preview the table creation script and make edits
  (some datatypes are auto-modified and useful check constraints are added)
• Rename individual fields
• Select "hands-off" operation or monitor each step of the loading process
